Catch 22 by Joseph Heller. Easily the funniest book I've ever read (funnier than Douglas Adams, even), but really moving as well.

It's easily Murder In The Cathedral - a play - by T.S Elliot.

'White Teeth' by Zadie Smith is my favourite book.
Go to my blog (link's in my signature) for my review/gushings of that book.

i thought everyone knew dan brown sucked until came to this forum

then i see a giant thread started for every piece of shit he writes
same with matthew reilly

i hate when trash like that is overvalued
i know someone's going to reply saying that they're good for airport novels, but do airport novels really deserve this kind of discussion?

everyone should go buy themselves some murakami instead :)

my favourite book is probably 1984, and though it's quite significant - it's kinda preposterous to call it 'the greatest book ever written'
it's more a book of great ideas and brilliantly written

Well, I'm going to have to say Harper Lee - To Kill A Mockingbird, in a moment of inspired dullness.

Also quite like Ken Kesey's One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

Both were fantastic movies, too, and the only two books to have left me crying.

Apparently Harper Lee was pretty young, 15 odd, when she wrote To Kill A Mockingbird.

The movie was so well made, they haven't bothered to make a newer version.

The original 12 Angry Men, Psycho and The Manchurian Candidate are all perfectly made movies. Didn't stop them doing a lesser remake.
