This is all a bunch of political propaganda contextualised within education.
The HSC isn't screwed up just because YOUR values do not agree with the values within the course. That's your opinion and I think you're just releasing a bit of steam at this time. There are people/students who actually do agree with these values, even to a certain extremity. The DET will not succumb to political correctness in the HSC, because it will consequently have ridiculously useless syllabus content. So there must be a side that the HSC values have to take. It just so happens they don't agree with your own values.

I feel there is left wing bias, I admit its probably not as bad as I or many others like to make out, to be honest I just don't like english, find it useless and some literary theory tends so far left (Not political left) that all meaning is lost, that annoys me.

Of coure there's a left wing bias. Humanities teachers are Arts students grown up, and underpaid ones at that. Not surprisingly they are preponderantly left-leaning. That's not to say that there's any sort of ideological penalty within the HSC. I got excellent marks for an Eng. Ext I PoMo paper where I derided postmodernism as inconsequential rubbish. As long as you can make your (reasonable) point within the parameters of the syllabus, and display a good knowledge of the course material, it's hard for them to mark you down.

Suck it up--education gets more lefty at uni.

How about when the war is to stop a worse evil? Eg. WWII Fighting to stop genocide and other evils? War is in of itself a bad thing (Unless you're an arms manufacturer) but sometimes the only alternative.

so long as human beings exist, there will always be a group of anarchists/terrorists. despite how many u kill, they why continue to exist. not because the members are alive, the human mind evolves on its own, and individuals are suscepted to their own anarchists thoughts or thoughts on terrorism.
