Stupidest thing about the OC: whenever a character's association with the main characters ends, they leave town. They've gotten rid of half a dozen characters this way and we'll be well past a full dozen by the end of this season. Hasn't it ever occured to the scripwriters that having them stick around town but not skipping town might be a tad less silly? Just my 2 cents.

so all the new characters eventually leave? meh...i couldn't give a rats ass, they're all so poorly cast anyway. why don't they try casting people who can actually act and not just for looks. i know ive said this a hundred times but Anna and Luke should've stayed as permanent cast members and maybe Oliver to some extent. i loved the ep he was last seen in..very suspenseful! i don't know where he could fit in as no-one liked him but he could've been the redeeming psycho or something. it seemed like he just disappeared off the face of the earth and same goes to Rachel too.

so they cant just bring them 2 that straight away

Rachel's disappearing made sense because Sandy got fired from that law firm so he's got nothing to do with them anymore. She wasn't tied into the story very much like the other characters that have left were

its in next weeks episode,
at present Marissa has recently broken up with DJ,
though, seth and Alex's Relationship seems going well it doesn't last long
things become alot more interesting in the next few episodes -- thought it does go down hill abit.. but hey.. its already heading in that direction!

oh and the Alex/marissa thing didn't drag on that long

Alex leaves in ep 16 at the bon fire.. THE DEPARTURE SO SUCKED!!..though it does leave hopes of her returning (i hope she comes back.. i liked her!.. maybe not the Marissa/alex thing.. but her as a character .. and person "))
