After headlines in Melbourne such as "Barry Hall's Barry Crocker", Hall's mother, Helen, said yesterday that she was very angry with the treatment her son had received from the Melbourne media.
"I'll never speak to them again," she said.
"They were singing his praises after Barry got them into the grand final and now all they want to do is kick him in the guts.
"It's disgraceful."
Hall still hasn't spoken to the media.
I don't get it! If he and his mum are willing to receive all the plaudits of being the best player in the league when he has a couple of good games, they should also be willing to cop the bagging that comes with a player who let's the club down when he plays a shocker!
Why should he be built up as God's gift to football, but have no accountability when he plays badly?
Accept it Barry - receive praise when you're good. Receive criticism when you're bad. Put things into perspective and grow up.
