lol, i love the badges, i actually have 4 SRC badges from high school. in year 7 i got into src in term 3 , our school normally has no year SRCs but i guess they made an exception for me. so i got 4 well shined SRC badges to keep, and i got three DUX trophies wooo.mollycoddle said:Is being a prefect the same sort of thing as being a captain? I'm assuming it is.
I'm captain at my school and I really enjoy it. It sounds like you want to become more involed within the school, so don't worry too much about prefect duty taking up too much of your time. I guess every school is different, but surely they will understand that it is year 12 so it won't be too demanding.
I have a once a week lunch meeting (which is fine) and sometimes have to help with school events that take place after school. This Friday they are sending my fellow captain and I down to Sydney for some Parliament House extravaganza which will be the first time we have missed out on school, but we have known about it for ages so have been able to plan in advance.
It's a good way to get involved with charity work, which I wouldn't be doing if it weren't for this.
Also, don't underestimate the importance of a well shined badge. I still get delight from it.
oh wait. omg how could i forget. did i mention that you get book vouchers when you come first at school .
so now i have another point. Doctor Jollly, would you rather have book vouchers, or shiny badges, i know you want both, but you could be affecting your studies if you do take the shiny badge and accept it with its responsibilities.
example, i feel like my DUX crown is being slowly taken away from me the longer im in that mentoring program more like mental program. arhhhh
