how do u go about solving questions like this.
Bla captured this many fish, tagged em n released em. then he cought some again but only a little bit were tagged. then they ask for the whole amount. how do u do it??

you have to find the %s dont you?

so this % of fish had tags (from the fish caught)
then you find 1%?
then * by 100 or something to get 100%?

sorry.. thats just kinda how i remember it... i could be right, i could be wrong

ok well heres an example...
if u catch 120 fish from a lake.. tag them then release then.... then u catch a randome sample of 80 fish and 6 are tagged... find the population of fish in the lake...

let x represent the population and use a cross multiplying technique...

120 6
----------- = -----------
x 80

cross mutiply to find x (the population)
x= (120 x 80)
--------------
6
= 1600 fish in the lake
