Does anyone have any notes on this text?
I've checked the resources section, so please don't tell me to go there.
I have some basic notes but I just want to see how other people interpreted this text.

the text is not stupid, you just have to analyse it to understand it...maybe its just in the way you've been taught...but...i think this is an excellent text!!

i don't have notes just yet...but, if i get round to them...i'll send them to you if you want...

These are my notes... some from resouces some from my own


- Optimistic view
-Travellers (the workd) shows the focus of extract
- Noun associated with understakers of journey
- firtst sentence- duality of travelling- motivates explores of the desire for profit and pleasure combined with the search for the genii loci
- generalises reasons for travel taken ver centuries
-assertion unsupported by facts further implicates text
-word centuries, implies travel and physical act of journeys been occuring over time
-genii plural of 'genius'. mental high of ability
-loci plural of 'locus'-loci places or localities
-genii lcoi- spirits of location that work magic on viewer
-travel, serch for ultimate psychological and spiritual experiance comes from finding 'heart and soul' of place
-vacations taken to be moved rather than move
-holiday to become affected by genii loci
-seek external geography that will act on their internal phycology. connotes that physical holiday and journey undertaken to impact on mind rather than physically
-geography purge the internal turnoil of traveller and clense their spirtuality
-they will return to place from which they came blessed and altered implies that englightening experiance will allow traveller to return to depature point altered and by the spirituality of the place
-if explorer searches something or somewhere world would be enriched-new world would be enlightened
