other unis do have paper like the western onion so seriously...,, everyone saying its a "uws thing" just adds to the negative rep that the same people bitch about...
yeah sociallist alliance party are screwy...but lumping the greens in that category is stupid... just coz they oppose the gov doesnt mean they're idiots...
personally, yeah the new paper's probly gonna be good but i'd rather see my money spent on useful stuff like replacing all the books people nicked from the library and stuff like that... and so much money and paper could be saved by makin it an internet thing rather than a printed paper...same goes for western onion...espec since around campus you see so many papers and pamphlets given out by the uni and uwsconnect and all the societes just floating around or chucked in the bin..
short of that, a milkshake machine in the cafe or bar would be good

books are the responsibility of the uni not unions/assoc/wateva. it is on the net, but not too many people are bothered with it so they want to penetrate the market through this communication channel and distribution. (hehe cramming for marketing and thats what oyu get)
yes and pool and ping pong tables..yes i know, ive repeated myself too many times, but we need them!!! where are they??? CAnt ask Jonathan_A since he is a bankstown person...

actually, why did they open a retail shop when they could invest in milkshake machinery/pool/ping pong and get the majority to actually use/buy it. the retail shop so far is pretty much shooing flies when i cross it. no one is in there either so if you wanted something you had to wait.

Retail shop? Cokes are like 20c cheaper there than at the cafeteria! lol. But they build things for the majority of students, and I don't think that a ping pong table is going to accommodate the needs of the majority, unforuntely.

but i mean if they spent the money for the retail shop in thigns that help students or benefit students instead of a shop that is rarely shopped at.
e.g. services such as more subsidised food or better food. i bought an OJ at penrith for 1.44 and at parra its like 2.25, v. big difference for the same thing, and i have reason to believe that teh parra one was overdue too...
also maybe a gym at parra migth be a go, dont know if it really needs it with such a small campus.
the table id like to buy costs too much and id rather play with someone for the fun and competition.

I had a uwsconnect meeting today and spoke to the person who is organising the "Vibe" magazine. It will be different from the Onion, it's apolitical and will have info on student events, vouchers, deals and the like.
