was just reading through some of the old pages looking for some info and there was mention that SCO GUI updates would be likely in Store Release 10.0. has anyone heard any bits of information lately about how far away this store release would be - or is anyone able to make a guess when it would be?

close - giftcard enquiry

wowcard enquiry is for credit cards i think.
Thanks. I'll check it out tomorrow. 830-1 in Perishables (I got called in because my sup said no one was gonna be on it tomorrow. I also asked her who to report to in Perishables but she said no one would be there, just rock up to the service desk. Does that mean I'm BOSS in Perishables tomorrow?) Then 2-6 on checkouts as originally rostered. Originally I was supposed to work checkouts 2-7 though. Sigh...I'm wondering if I should have said yes. I actually hurt my shoulder on Perishables earlier this year whilst doing juices lol.

This thread is so helpful! :) Am really appreciative of all the quick replies I get here!

I don't know about your store, but for our perishables department there is either a list on the fridge door for you, or the duty manager will know exactly what needs to be done/in what order.
I reckon you'll get a massive load tomorrow (IIRC you're in a WA store aren't you) - we've had no milk load since thursday apart from what we got from another store yesterday. There's supposed to be problems with Masters, so yeah, be prepared for that.

Just a question with the staff discount cards... Can they be used to buy smokes in QLD? I read through the policy and couldn't find anything about it, and it goes through when I scan it, but I was told this morning that it's not allowed...

That means I get 0730 to 0830 at OT rates ;) (on top of 2.5x ?? :\)
It means you get double rates on top of your double time and a half which is like 520% of your pay rate.

Whatever you do don't say a thing until the next day, if you say anything on the day they might send you home early cause you cost so much. Your there to make money not to do little favours for the company out of the goodness of your heart.

Claim ignorance as to when you claim the overtime, just say you didn't realize until after the shift when you checked the times because you were exceptionally tired. They won't take it out on you they will probably apologise.

It will be the difference between $250 and $500 for a days work, honestly it's worth the guilt.

Good plan.

OR - claim ignorance about the 10 hour rule. i had to tell another supervisor about it a few weeks ago when she did 21.30 finish, and 7.00 open.

I can't.

SCO open - 0730 to 1500
SCO close - 1500 to 2230
The supervisor can easily open SCO until you arrive. It's not like there's any customers in the first half hour.

They won't pay you OT, lol. Not when you're a lowly casual that isn't a member of the union. No chance in hell.

Of course you can. I don't know who said that.

I didn't know this as I haven't read the past few Woolies newsletters, but apparently Self Serve was launched in NZ in September! It says in there "Look out for Self Serve Checkouts popping up all over the country"

I doubt we'll get them though, the small store we are.

Edit:

Today we got the biggest produce load ever. It was huge, it was so bigg......2 pallets :p That has to be the most pathetic load we've ever received :p Lol

Also, because I was bored and have no life, I found my store on Google.

Actually, I can't speak for everyone but I do NOT want to be your mate.

It was actually my manager... I was like "If it's not supposed to be used on smokes wouldn't it just exclude them like it does with the fuel offers?"

Two under? haha, we were 5 under between 12 and 3 yesterday...that was really fun.

I bet the SSS thing will be nothing, I had our compliance officer come and speak with me on christmas eve, I thought I'd done something wrong, and all she wanted was a bit of a quiz on how I thought my SSM/CSM was dealing with my "limited duties" (on behalf of HR). A bit pathetic really.

What exactly is the role of an SSS anyway?

It stands for Store Services Specialist (you probably knew that) I know when there are big register shortages the CSM/2IC have to ring them and tell them and what if they're doing an investigation etc. Kind of like the SSM's SSM. If that makes sense? lol.

Yeah that's true, i think you have changed your mind :p - Only thing I'm worried about is, somebody looking at it and going "no 10 hour break O.O", then that shift gets taken off me for the fourth time this week.

Ah and also..

I accidently purchased coffee eclares instead of regular eclares (lollies). Can I refund/exchange/etc since I've opened and had one, or is there no way?
I've not been taught any kind of refunds or exchanging yet so I'm not sure.

I'm not sure about QLD, but I know in NSW I use it all the time for buying smokes? :karate:

can't claim ignorance, People Planner doest pay it out by default for less than 10hrs break, you have to ask for it, and if you ask for it, they know you already knew and didnt say anything. then say goodbye to any shifts ever again.

The award is fairly vague on the matter "In the case of misconduct justifying instant dismissal an employee may be instantly dismissed." (5.10.1) and "The absence of an employee from work for a continuous period exceeding 3 working days, without just cause and without the consent of the Company and without notification to the Company, shall be taken that the employee has abandoned employment and the Company will be entitled to treat the employment as having been terminated." (5.11) [NSW]

So that could include anything really, theft, fraud, disseminating confidential information, inappopriate behaviour
