Ok. So i am going to have an upcoming data analysis/theory physics test, and the teacher gave us one of the questions that was going to be in it (to help us a little bit, and because she doesn't think any of us will be able to get full marks in it even now we know the question). The question is an EIGHT marker on outlining/explaining/discussing Thomson's experiment. I have no clue what I need for ALL 8 marks. Anyone care to help? What do you guys think i would need to mention to get all 8 marks??

outlining - flip to your textbook, consolidate WHAT and WHY did thomson do the exp.?
explaining - HOW did thomson do it (equations, description of equipment)
discussing - impact on scientific community/understanding of nature of cathode rays
