is it true that extension I and II english students will automatically beat the advanced guys? thats what my career adviser said

say im ranked 20th in advanced english
but there 90 people doing extension I and II
he said my overall english position would be 110th.......


true? cuz it sucks :p

What do you mean by 'automatically beat'?

I don't think that's right at all? :) But everyone doing the course is included when determining your ranking, regardless of what other (extension) courses they might be doing...

i think he said it had something to do with the hsc taking the 2 best units of english

anyway thanks for clearing that up
my career advisor sucks
he doesnt even have the uac guides yet :mad1: :p

Oh... he probably meant that they could include the higher-scaling extension courses as their two compulsory units, instead of the two advanced units. But you'd have to have already gained higher marks in the extension courses for that to be worthwhile... and if you do that, you haven't 'automatically beaten' anyone, you've worked for it...

It varies. :) Sometimes one does it on behalf of the other, as well.

Our school doesn't do UAI predictions they find it unnecessary and dangerous in getting people's hopes up or the other way around.
And yeah, extension II scaling is seperate to adv, they're counted as two different things.
