Having an anguished exploration of pardigms at the moment.... just wondering, is it fair to say that any thing that explores how something should be falls under the philosophical paradigm? So discussing how marriage should be, compatibiltty of partners, conventions etc. is more philosophical than economic??? SO confused!

I think those kinds of questions fall under the "values" emphasised in the syllabus. Values are, of course, intrinsic to any paradigm, but in an exam response I'd specifically refer to these questions as questions of values. Many people place too much credence on the word "paradigm" as outlined in the syllabus, forgetting that the "values" part is just as important.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I'm talking about RFTG here - I don't know what elective you're doing and whether it also incorporates values, so I apologise if I just talked crap.
