1)Doing subjects you like is a shit idea. Do subjects you're good at.
What? Wouldn't doing subjects you enjoy result in better marks, considering you will put more effort into them because you LIKE THEM!? Your logic is stupid. :mad1: Unless what you mean to say is that some people choose subjects they like but are shit in. In that case i agree with you but otherwise we should do subjects we like. Choosing subjects purely based on scaling would have to be the worst way to go.

jdcb4 said nothing at all about picking their subjects on scaling. They said to pick subjects that you're good at.

There is a different.

Really? o_O I find Frontline more entertaining than Blade Runner and definitely more than King Lear, so it's fine with me XD

*Is posting this during a study period on a school comp >.>;
king lear made me fall asleep, nd i didnt like blade runner the first time i saw it bt the second time, it was alrite. "telling the truth" is an interesting topic bt the episodes shits me! esp. the opening sequence!

1) That one should work consistantly. Not the not work for ages and then get stressed.
2) Have a rough idea about what you want to in uni, saves A LOT of time.
3) You should revise constantly..........(if only i realised the greater significance of this throughout the year)
4) When you read a text, highlight and put sticky things on the pages AS you read. Saves time afterwards.

I didn't say that jdcb4 mentioned anything about scaling. That was my own opinion, however everything that was said before the scaling comment was directed at jdcb4.

How is a yr 10 student supposed to pick subjects they're good at when some of the subjects offered in yr 11/12 are not practiced during junior years? In this case would it not be the better option to choose subjects, which interest you and that you like? That was all i meant. :)

Re: Things You Wish You Knew Before Starting Your HSC

that thinking "oh i'm good at englishes and art" and thus not studying as hard for them before the trials will result in getting lower marks than expected.
that performance in yr 11 is not always indicative of your result in yr 12
that teachers can be swapped around without notice and as a result you can start doing really crap cos that teacher sucks
that i shouldn't spend so much time obsessing over UAIs

that you can get away with a crapass, one sentence conclusion in trials and still get 20/20 for the essay.

Nope, bio is recommended. I guess it depends on what kinda engo you're planning on specialising in.

Also, now that I have checked the UAC guide, engo studies is recommended. But hell, I was bored all year round since we were learning about lawnmowers the entire prelim year >.< Not to mention how the guy's trying to convince us that 27/25 = 1.02 -.-

Oh yeah, phys is actually assumed knowledge for engo O.O; Tho I guess it shouldn't come as a surprise...

Re: Things You Wish You Knew Before Starting Your HSC

What I wish I knew more than anything was to actually pump it hard from the get-go of Year 12, because ranks mean everything.
I didn't put that much effort in for my earlier assessments, so only had average ranks. But then I realised the importance of the ranks and I worked hard for Trials and got two 1sts and 2nds, but it's still only enough to get me to about 2nd/3rd ranks overall.

If only someone told me.
