hey
i feel like i have prepared decently for my essays
but the unseen texts worry me. what are some tips to focus on?

Know your concepts of belonging (family, culture, religion, nationality etc.) and not belonging (isolation, alienation, displacement, rejection etc.) and also know your techniques. Practice would also help if you have some trial or half yearly exams.

look at the mark allocation for each question and write an appropriate amount.

don't get too philosphical with your replies as the paper is sat by both standard and advanced so the correct answers are generally straight forward.

read through your texts during reading time thoroughly so you don't waste valuable writing time.

that section is worth the same amount as the creative writing + essay so don't underestimate it, make sure you spend enough time on it.

STATE THE OBVIOUS!

Even if it sounds stupid (to you), just say it.
I got screwed over in the catholic trials paper for not being obvious enough.

When you see the word "how" in a question, you need techniques.
