i got 82, that appears to be the lowest so far. I couldn't fo sworn they marked my paper wrong. if correctly it scaled me up approx 15 marks.

how come I got a 98 but didnt get a state ranking? Does this mean that all those ppl got 99 and 100?

But if u had to get 100 to be ranked, then how can there be 1st place, 2nd, 3rd... etc? wouldn't everyone that got 100 just get =1st?

Maybe they subjectively rank all the people on full marks like they do in English.

I don't know for sure but if you look at your HSC results, the BoS seem to round up for everything? I think that has something to do with it, and I'm pretty sure the computers used to do moderation/scaling go much deeper than just 1 decimal place.

Distinct ranks are kept from raw marks to the decimal aligned marks which is then rounded to give you the integer value.
