RAW MARKS. What you are referring to is ALIGNED MARKS.Letters said:Wouldn't it obviously be 100?
I meant 100% as in 120/120. And I'm sure that every single person who has come first in 2 unit maths got 120/120.lyounamu said:RAW MARKS. What you are referring to is ALIGNED MARKS.
RAW MARKS for 2 Unit Mathematics is about of 120. And top in the state does not always get 120/120.
Actually the guy who topped the state for 2003 maths was from my school as an accelerant. And that guy equal-topped so I was actually thinking that he got 120...(because it is rare for two people get the same mark as a top mark apart from 120).midifile said:Im guessing that you got 99% or something and want to know if you would top the state?
Im not sure if you can find out the top raw marks, but I think in most years the top raw mark for 2u maths would be 120 or if not, like 118+/120
thats pretty good anyway, and marks like that would be even higher after alignmentlyounamu said:Actually the guy who topped the state for 2003 maths was from my school as an accelerant. But I did the paper this morning thinking that the top mark would be 120 and I got 116/120. (would have lost more marks under HSC exam condition)
Doing that paper, I thought the 2003 paper was quite difficult in comparison to 2004, and 2005 where I pulled off 118+.
And no, I wouldn't top the state with that mark...and I doubt I will. I just really want to know the bar that I really need to set. I wanted to ask him but I don't know his email...
I'd personally think that the top mark for any level of maths, with the possible exception of general, would be 120.midifile said:On the same topic, does anyone have any ideas what the top marks in 3unit are?
3 unit is only out of 84Letters said:I'd personally think that the top mark for any level of maths, with the possible exception of general, would be 120.
AHAHAAHA, well, whatever. 84/84 for top mark. I only do 2U so I wouldn't know what the 3U exam is out of.midifile said:3 unit is only out of 84
It should definitely be out of 84 in 9/10 cases.midifile said:3 unit is only out of 84
If you get 110/120 in actual paper, I will guess that the mark you get on HSC result paper (ALIGNED MARK) will be about 98. And this is not called scaling. This is called "moderating".dolbinau said:Hey,
I also found the 2003 paper more difficult (compared to the 2002/2001 though that's all I've done).
But, a quick question regarding scaling;
If I get say 110/120 (92%) (assuming I'm ranked first assessment) my actual exam mark will not be 92 will it? that is, it is made higher/lower before I see it?
Yeah, definitely.jessi90 said:would 105/120 get around 95?
I heard that more than 100 people last year equally topped the state in MX1.midifile said:On the same topic, does anyone have any ideas what the top marks in 3unit are?
No, that's not possible. Look at the state ranks at the BOS.shaon0 said:I heard that more than 100 people last year equally topped the state in MX1.
According to the BoS stat, that's more like 94 because 103 got someone about 93. But it varies every year.jessi90 said:would 105/120 get around 95?
