i will be doing b eco at UNSW this year but i would like to transfer to B commerce (major in accounting) - i know you need a similar UAI (this year 95 and mine 94.2) and good grades. and which subjects/majors should i choose which will be similar to commerce and a better chance of transferring?

I did exactly what you intend to do a couple of years ago (strangely, my UAI would've got me straight into commerce this year!)
Basically, you do the same core subjects in 1st year, so that wont be a problem. You'll get two electives (1 per semester), so use those to pick subjects in your other major (because you are already doing the accounting subjects in the core 1st year)
