well what are you in and what do you want to transfer into?
what was your uai?
what do you think you will get as uni marks?

there are 2 ways to transfer, internally and through uac.
the internal one also has two ways, the related internal transfer and the Guaranteed internal course transfer. both of the internal ones are free and are done through getting a form and filling it out and getting the course coordintater of the course you want to get into to sign it.

closing dates are 1 july 2005 for the guaranteed internal course trasnfer (into any course at uws).
i cant help you anymore than that, if oyu need more info, ask questions and tell us what courses you are in mate.

links:
the guaranteed internal course transfer (into other courses) and the Chang of Key program (for entry into related courses)

uai not taken in the internal methods.
so you are doing a B in IT and want to go into B Computing?
i suggest the Guarnateed internal course transfer scheme.
visit the link above and read about it.
you need a minimum gpa of > 5.01.
go to the student centre and get the guaranteed internal course trasnfer scheme form, fill it out, go to the coordinater to sign it and give it back to the student centre.

is this your first semester? in my experience, they did not sign my form until they had all my marks of which you have not got your marks form your units so you may have to send it in the next semester. If this does happen, you can do what i did, i enrolled into the course core subjects of the other degree ( the one i wanted to transfer into) while still in my old degree and sent the trasnfer form again in the following semester.
hope it helps.

not that i can see, i was in your same position last year (not the same course but you know...)
thjose are th einternal methods, the external methods are hmmmm...
external methods via uac into uws can be doen, ill check if it is on for th emid semester one. but essentially its the same, the criteria to trasnfer tkes your highest marks so if your uni marks are higher than your uai, only your uni marks will be taken. but it will cost $35 and the process is like that of year 12 except you have to do it via the internet or post.

ive just checked uac and B computing is not avaialble in the mid semester so it looks like you will have to wait..sorry mate.
just use your electives and choose the cores for the course you want to trasnfer into so you dont waste any time. but first try and ask if the coordinater will sing folr you, sometimes you get nice coordinateres. i fit doesnt work out, try and see if you can do the units at parramatta next semester.

good luck in your tranferring. ;)

i'm 99.9% sure i won't get the above credit average to get a guaranteed transfer.
how good are the chances of internal transferring through UAC ?
say i'm gonna apply for transfer after 1 year, i'd be up against the HSC graduates.. does that mean i'd be advantaged cos i'm coming from uni already, or DISadvantaged ? :/

Annegelic:
firstly transferring through uac is external, not internal (just correcting)
what uac tries to do is to have all candidates that are applying equal so you are not disadvantaged nor advantaged. the criteria to pick you will be different however, if you are transferrring into uws again, uws assesses you by your highest rank i.e. uai, uni grades, work experience etc. out of one of those, whichever is highest, uws will use as entry mark. foir other unis, you must consult the uac guide for information but usually its uai/uni marks=nrsl mark.
if you have anymroe questions, ask away...

Natstar: the problem may lie in that your home campus is blacktown and the computers may stuff your enrolment up (e.g. like me) and say the unit is full because your not a parra student. Just see if there are alot of marketing students enrolling in your units, if not alot than you can get a spot but if its full usually you have to look to another campus like i did.

hey man i am transferring (hopefully) from a b community welfare to a b social science

i got the guarenteed transfer form...i had to find out who was the head or b social science, she was situated in parra campus, so i went to her office on my day off uni and she signed it and we discussed what units i will be enrolling in, she suggested 4 units, i put them down....handed it into the student centre at my campus (bankstown) they keep it on record...when u get ur gpa, they fill it out and if its above 5.0 they send u a letter confirming ur success etc.

u jus gotta get the co-ord of b computing to sign, fill out which units u want to enroll in (make sure they are offered that year, discuss it with the co-ord) and then lodge it thats all

just find out who the co-ord is, e-mail em and set up a meeting ASAP coz u dont have much time AT ALL.....the form must be handed in by 2 weeks b4 next teaching period starts.....so in other words, do it before this semester ends......DO IT NOW..

do on the uws website and look up b computing, u should be able to find the co-ord's e-mail address...or phone number.....arrange the next possible meeting, get them to sign, units etc, lodge it, ur done.

you need to get a sign from the coordinater to the course you want to transfer to.
it depends, it will only guarantee you a trasnfer if you meet the requirements i.e. gpa . 5.01 but i foyucan get it signed and handed in, do it!

wait wait wait, i wanna transfer too, through the internal transfer sheme, i still have exams and some assesment to go though, someone in my course said that they went to the coordinator (of my current course), but she didnt sign it......but i thought the coordinator of the NEW course has to sign it?? and what happens if she wont sign it...Cuz this form is due in 2 weeks, but the exams with my final results will be ready only after a month! Also, i went to UAC, and the course i wanna transfer to isnt listed...? Does that mean that i can't transfer to this course internally aswell? or do different criteria apply?

yes, you have to get the coordinater of the course you want to transfer to, not the coordinater you have.
you see, some coordinaters are nice, as hiphophorray123 has siad, and will happily sign the form. if they do not sigm it and request that they need to see your results, you cannot hand the form in becasue you have not got it signed by the coordinater. this means that you have to wait till next semester to hand in a new form.
uac and internal trasnfer applications are different. UWS only allows certain courses to be on record on UAC, but interanlly you can trasnfer to any course. REmeber they are totally different. so yes, you can trasnfer internally to any course.

hope this helps.
