doing a course transfer through UAC at the end of the year for a 1st year student, would their criteria for admission go by your 2004 UAI or your GPA??

Geez talk about thread explosions today. Is everyone from UWS completely bored or something?
Anywho ... if you transfer through UAC at the end of the year, its 50% GPA and 50% UAI from 2004.
Does this mean you haven't got your transfer???

i havent found out yet im just preparing for the worst
oh shit i only got 60.65 UAI in 2004, do u think that'd totally down my chances if the UAI cut off goes back up to 70

It probably won't help if the cut off does rise. But the cut off might not rise. You never know.
The best thing to do, is to try and get a high GPA, I dunno say around high credit or distinction. (I'm guessing btw
)
But if you get that, you might as well transfer internally at the end of this semester, and get a guaranteed spot and not pay the UAC admin fees

depends on which uni as well, most unis are 50/50, others only regard uni marks (uws&uts) so be sure to read the Non year 12 admission part in each uni description in the uac guide.
cutoffs will be newer, but people say that the cutoffs are usually lower for non year 12 applicants, but it will vary depending on demand.

What is WAM (Weighted-Average Mark)?
WAM (Weighted-Average Mark) is a very similar concept to GPA, except it does without the use of grade points. Instead, the final mark (FM) is used in lieu of the GP value. Therefore, the formula will be:
WAM = ( FM1 x CP1 + FM2 x CP2 + FM3 x CP3 + ... + FM'n' x CP'n') / CP1 + CP2 + CP3 + ... + CP'n').
Just add all your marks up and divide them by 4.

its a band that george michael was the lead singer of in the early 80s.......
and with the transfer thing....it depends on the course u wana transfer to, ur GPA, UAI, demand for the course u wana transfer to as well.
with 60ish uai and in 1st semester......i would say u would hv a good chance in transferring to a course in humanities, arts, teaching, engineering, IT.......but u hv no chance to transfer to business/commerce or law.
i would know as i tried to transfer in first yr uni 3yrs ago into commerce to one of the city unis but didnt get in with a uai of 80 and a GPA of Credit Avg, but my friends got their transfers into UTS and USYD into IT and engineering with uais below 80 and GPA of Pass avg.
