does anyone know the answers to these questions i have a assignment on transformers

function of transformers ?
how a transformer works ?
the production of eddy currents in transforemrs ?
difficulties posed by the production of eddy currrents in transforemrs ?
what steps are taken to reduce the production of eddy currents ?
why heating presents difficulties to society and the environment ?
how these difficulties are overcome ?

Ill answer first one u can answer the rest,
ok
Function of a transformer... To increase voltage = Step Up transformer
... To decrease Voltage = Step Down transformer
however total energy remains the same as P = power = IV = J/s
and as Voltage increases Current drops thats why most power stations release 133 000V at a time to decrease current

PS u can find the answer to all of those questions in any reliable text book...

well eddy currents are produced when a change in magnetic field occurs in the presence of a conductor, similar to induction.... actually exactly the same. they are produced in the magnets.... I cant really explain i need a diagram. But neways, the swirling currents produce heat.. this is countered by using magnets which are slit and laquered between so that the currents dont have that great a surface area to heat.
