someone told me public transport would cost around $1000.

so how much do you spend each day?

yesterday i spent
t-way: 2 x $2.10
train: $4.00
bus: 2 x $1.30

which, if i can add is $10.80

i bought a t-way 10 today, $18.30
train: $4.00
bus: 2 x $1.30

total : $23.60

thank goodness i'm not there every week otherwise i'd need to sell a kidney. remember the days when you had a bus pass? and you only needed to catch one bus?

$22 for a weekly train ticket (or $20, but $22 covers the odd trip into the city and my arse whenever I get off at central), and around $7.5 on petrol for the weekly trips to and from the station (the bus would be something like $15).

I'll just round that off to $750 for the 26 weeks of regular class.

Monday:
Train to and from the campus. I started this Monday and on the way to the campus (Blacktown) i didn't have a concession card and it was $4.80 for a return ticket.

Tuesday:
Get a lift to the uni with a family friend who starts the same time as me. Come back home by train. I got my concession on Monday and payed $2 to get home by train today.

Thursday:
Depending on the availablity of my friends car, i will go to and from the campus with my friend in his car who starts and finishes at the same time as me.

Friday:
Same as Thursday

25 dollars a week...wollongong to the city

but that covers me for all the train journeys i make between wollongong and my house and work as well, coz i can just show em my weekly...so it works out not too bad...

feel sorry for full fare paying adults...50 dollar weekly tickets!

one of the crappy things of going to uni...transport.
this sem i pay 10.60 for a travel ten which equates to 1.06 per trip to and from the uni at parra. and 3.00 for a day return cityrail ticket to parra. and 5.60 for a day return ticket to penrith.
= 1.06*6 + 3.00*3 + 5.60 = 20.96
last year i bought weekly penrith tickets for 18.50.

I am spending $27 a week on transport. One of those purple travel passes. Since I travel to 3 different campuses an the furthest I go out is to Richmond, it actually works out heaps cheaper and its much more convient.

train costs $5.20 return... 60c bus fare (though i walk when i catch the train),

i've tried driving... got an e-tag thingo so only pay gst (cashback scheme) as well as about $20 in petrol (i'm guessing, seeing as though it's my first week!!)

not too bad, was expecting worse.

a tip: do NOT rely on cityrail to be on time when you want them to be!! it took me 2 hours door-to-door from strathfield to get home yesterday, and this morning i was there in 40 mins (i drove) :)

$26 a week for train and bus, could be only $22 if I walked instead of getting the bus but I am lazy.
