Individual health was to much based around the fact that an individual had complete control over their own health - it didnt take into account that there were other aspects that significantly influenced health - hence why new public health approach - included social factors of health example age, gender, SES disadvantaged etc....showed other factors played dramatic role - somethings that ppl didnt hav any say or control over...!
