gday im doing my hsc in sydney and i've put griffith on my preferences. i've noticed that nearly all of the courses are nc (new course: no cut offs available).

could someone briefly elaborate what this means?

they've just changed heaps of the courses, so that's why they're new this year and therefore don't have last years cutoff as a guide

so how will they determine the cut-offs. im sure it doesn't mean any1 can enter the course..

They will determine the cut off based on the number of places available. and last highest UAI granted admission.

Use last years UAI as a predict~

um there is no uai from last year .. but yeah, the courses all have certain quotas, so whoever applies with the highest uais to fulfil the quota get in

and its qtac not uac

um i'm pretty sure you apply through qtac, i did. why the fuck would you apply through uac, which deals with nsw, when it's a queensland university?

unless they've changed it, which is retarded

It would be a great course.
I'm keenly interested in medical microbiology and immunology and they offer this in the BScAdv @ the UNSW.
Many fields of study are only available in the science advanced course...
Neuroscience
Applied Human Anatomy and Physiology
Genetics etc...

No, undergraduate...
So I'll transfer to BScAdv n 2008, and sit UMAT next year and apply 2 medicine in 2009
Things change though, I may get involved in postgraduate research in medical microbiology etc...
Medical microbiology is what i love, MBBS is just something i require 2 get where I want 2 get...

most of the courses here look at about a uai or about 80-90, except like dent, med and law...but hey i got into dent with a dropkick uai or 86 so you never know how low theyll go

yeah my umat was pretty good...about 157 percentile and 177 raw...but most of the kids who got in with me got pretty much a higher umat, so my interview must have got me the spot
