.........Another UAI guesstimate thread.....lol
OK, I'm aiming for a UAI of 97+ (which is high for some, low for others, what do you know...)
I go to SHS (Sefton High School) which ranked 56th in 2004 and 28th in 2005, if that helps in any way....
It would be great if you could give your estimates and perhaps I'll compare them to my school's estimate (in which they claim to be way more accurate than SAM lol) which I'll get as soon as I get reports....
Here are my mid-course results and estimated ranks + comments (my school never releases actual ranks to us anyway):
- English: 32/50 [Rank ~ 10th]..........Harshly marked, screwed up after topping year 11 lol
- Mathematics Extension 1: 79/84 [Rank ~ 10th].........Insultingly easy test
- Mathematics Extension 2: 88/120 [Rank = 5th]..........Super difficult test
- Chemistry: 60.5/70 [Rank ~ 10th].........Would have been better ranked if it hadn't been for so many people that scabbed so many marks..........
- Physics: 59.5/70 [Rank ~ 10th]..........Was intially 6th until people started scabbing for marks.....lol
- Biology: 57/70 [Rank ~ 10th]...........Satisfied, I guess......

So....what do you reckon...?

you go to a decent school...and your 4u maths mark sounds crazy (unless you got an easy exam). work hard and you will get 95+ for sure.

You mean how many people in each subject? Since my school never releases ranks to us themselves, I have no idea of the exact candidature for each subject. I can only guess:
English - 5 classes ~ 100 people
Mathematics Extension 1 - 5 classes ~ 100 people
Mathematics Extension 2 - 2 classes ~ 45 people
Chemistry - 4 classes ~ 70 people
Physics - 3 classes ~ 60 people
Biology - 3 classes ~ 60 people

at this stage... definetly above 90

but as long as u keep up these results for the trials and HSC exams, u should easily get above 97

One of ur biggest downfalls would have to be ur schools ranking

there is a top 200 list somewhere, but if ur school is not in it, just ask ur careers advisor or something

school rank does not make a difference
it doesnt directly affect the UAI, but it does affect your School Assessment marks which contribute towards the UAI

therefore it will affect the final UAI

WTF!!! My school gave me a UAI estimate of 99..........(they claim that their program is more accurate than SAM since they use correlations between half yearly results of Year 12s last year and the UAIs the got.........lol)
