ok i just hav a question about uai
like last yr there was apparently 22 ppl that got 100 uai
there would have been more on 90+
how many students are allowed on each 0.5 increment
is there a quota or is it just the number of ppl that get that uai get that uai...?
do u get what i mean?
like say this yr can there be more 100 uai say 50ish?
i'm asking this becuase..ok we will use ruse as an example..
everyone in ruse gets 99 does that mean (even though i'm not from one) a small cohert from a say, bathurst school has the ability to get 99?... like the fact that there school is not 'highly ranked' prevent them being on the same level playing field in so far as uai as the ruse kids..
what if these bathurst kids were just as good..?
i don't know if i hav got my msg across... but all in all
how many ppl are allowed to occupy each 0.5 increment in the uai scale? or is it unlimited so far as the student acheives the neccessary marks?
thanx for ya help

i dunno about quotas, but i do know country students who got 99+. And not all ruse get 99. Their average is around 98.

I dunno the actual numbers, 22 get 100, a further 44 get 99.95 then I dunno the rest, but its all quota, coz UAI is a rank, not a mark, so not everyone in the state can get 99
Anyone can get 99+ provided they get the marks that give them an aggregate of 99+

hehe 42 got 99.95 :p

The UAI is a percentile, so i guess that the amount on each rank depends on the size of the cohort (those sitting hsc and those who left in yr 10/did not finish). My interpretation is that 100 would mean you're the best, i.e top 0.025% of 80000 = 20 (close enough to 22...) 99.95 is then 0.025 - 0.075 = 40 However marks wouldn't be evenly distributed so the middle ranks i.e uais of 70 would have far more people on them. Bell-curvish.

Meh, i don't know, so don't hold me to my mere guesswork...
