Hello Everyone. I'd love a UAI estimate if you could spare the time.

Im doing 12 Units but my General maths mark is so bad im not going to put it up here. I'm so incredibly sure that its not going to be counted toward my UAI. Anyway, My mid yearly exam results & rankings are;

Adv English - 93% 1/48
Extension English - 90% (45/50) 1/6
Modern History - 91% 1/17
Extension History - 88% (44/50) 1/5
Business Studies - 85% 1/29
Economics - 75% 1/8

----> Im first in all my subjects except that im barely passing General maths *SHAME*

Im attempting to get these marks up a tiny bit, these marks are not including assessments which have probably been my strongest area this year. Also, with my economics mark Im really going to try and get above 80%. The person who is coming second in my economics class is on 59% which gives you an idea how hard of a marker our teacher is. (Not trying to sound like a whinger here, Id rather be marked hard and work really hard rather than be marked easy and get the shock of a lifetime after HSC)

I need about 97 to get into my course (Media/Communications) at Melbourne Uni. I dont think id get there on these marks, but I still have the trials which are worth about 30% for each subject and of course the HSC exams. Is it attainable?

Thanks everyone for your time.

it really depends on how your school is ranked, so we can see what raw marks you would be looking at in your external hsc exams.

i.e. lower ranked schools tend to have easier assessments.

With those subjects, you woul dbe looking at high 95's to low 97's.
However, maths does make a monumental difference, so if I were you I would really work in it.

FOr example

A student at my school last year, our school is ranked in the top 40,

got band 6 in all his subjects, plus was ranked 1 in all of them

english adv
english extn 1
english extn 2
modern history
history extn
society and culture
art

and he only got mid 96 for his uai

so maths really does have a significant imapct.

That isn't necesarrily true. Lower ranked schools certainly do not always have easier assessments.

At this stage (although too early to tell), with your current position in school, if you keep it up and remain ranked first till the end of all the assessments, your target UAI is quite easily achievable. In fact, you can still attain a 100 UAI.

Remember the marks you earn at school have no effect when you are ranked first. You will always attain the high HSC exam mark as your moderated assessment mark.

John, one problem I'm having with the program. It doesn't seem to include the Religion subjects. :p

PS: Yes, I'm bored, so I decided to check the program out again. :p

yea, if he only got flat 90's in every subject, still appears as a band 6. Probly would of only gotten like 92.

Still tho that's very unlucky, did anyone beat him from your school? cause if they did he must have really slacked off for the hsc.

Do you mean he got a band 6 HSC mark or a Band 6 internal assessment mark?
