Hi, i REALLY wants to know what my UAI might be:

1/30 in Biology
1/17 in Society and Culture
1/45 in ESL English
1 or 2/7 in Engineering Studies
5/70 in Mathematics
8/36 in Chemistry

I don't do any extension courses
But instead, I am doing ESL English, doesn't that scale down badly??

Thanks!

according to people who have previously done the HSC...yes...but I don't think you should be too worried since you're coming 1st or 2nd in most of your subjects....

I predict that you'll get approx 95 in your uai

Well thanks a lot....mmm.....95 pretty good, i can live with it.

How about this, i am attending in an average school.

(Damn ESL!!! But the dux of my school for the past 2 years have done ESL. (99.7 and 99.25) but i guess it helps when they both did Extension maths....)

If ur high ranks translate into band 6 results, then theres no reason why u shouldnt get a UAI of 99. I also recall ESL scaling better than English (Standard)

If you did the HSC in 2002 ...
Biology (92+)
Society and Culture (94+)
ESL English (90+)
Engineering Studies (94+)
Mathematics (96+)
Chemistry (90+)

If you mean raw marks ... I couldn't say! The above are aligned HSC marks! :)

Aim for 93+ in 10 units or more if you want $2000 from the govt....

[getting 99+ isn't necessary if your course had a lower uai, but $2K is a nice incentive...;) ]

hehehe, $2000 is excellent! But i'll be happy and overwhelm with a UAI of 99+

But now i don't think i can get it!!!

Any other combination of marks that can get me 99+ ??
From my Strongest to my Weakest subjects:
Biology - My strongest subject
Society and Culture
ESL
Mathematics
Engineering Studies
and Chemistry as my weakest subject

Thanks

There's no "set" range of marks to get, its basically a case of 'do the best you can'. I know how you feel, i spent the whole of last year trying to get some "certainty" as to what was to be expected and how i was going in relation to everyone else because there is so much that is unknown....but realistically no-one can tell you what you need to get, and no-one on this forum can do you the justice of being able to accurately assess what your marks are and what they will be...:) using the forum to get help with ur subjects etc is at least a step in the right direction...(and entering the non-school forum is probably about 10 steps back...) :p ;) :D

timmii is right ...

So there really isn't a set combination ... and the Exam could favor you or disadvantage you ... So all you can do, it prepare ... and hope! :)
