under estimating vs over estimating (1 Viewer)

I heard recently that males tend to over estimate what they will achieve and females under estimate. Does anybody know if there is any truth to this, and can it been seen at your school ? cocky males who might not be so smart and bright females who think they will do poorly?

well i go to an all male school and no one really seems to be overestimating.
everyone is very realistic with what they can/will get.

I go to an all girls school where a few who underestimate (especially the top achievers), some overestimate while most are just realistic.

I suppose, but that's because the males at my school are dominating the subjects that I'm doing, while there are only about 3/4 girls doing well. But all of the girls doing my subjects, are coming first.

I guess it sort of evens out.
