Hey im asking about this Unit help. Im considering moving to Extension because the Head Teacher wants to me to and i might want to as well. But this Unit thing is confusing me.

Im doing these A.T.M

Adv English
2unit Maths
Economics
Legal Studies
Ancient History
Business Studies

If i were to go to Extension Maths, i would be doing

Adv English - 2 units
Extension 1 Maths - 3units
Economics - 2units
Ancient History - 2 units
Business Studies - 2 units
Digital Imaging and Photography - 1 unit

I dropped Legal Studies because its on Ext 1 maths line.

My problem is when i get to Yr 12, i would have to drop Photgraphy and either Ancient History or B. Studies, i would only have 9units. I dont want to do 4unit Maths or Ext English or History. Can i still get a UAI with 9 units?

That's effectively right except you would be doing
2U Maths - 2 units
Extension 1 Maths - 1 unit
When they refer to 3U maths they mean doing 2U and Extension 1

And no - you need 10 units so would have to keep all your units except Photography.

No you cant get a uai with nine units not can u complete the hsc. Extension one maths is one unit so your classes would be:

Adv eng- 2u
maths-2u
etx math-1u
history-2u
buis studies-2u
photog-1u
eco-2u

so thats 12 units. why would u need to drop ancient or b studies? without photog u will have 11 units. u need to min to get a hsc and 10 board approved to get a uai. by only dropping photog u can get a hsc

Why would you have to drop Ancient and Business? Keep both, you'll have 1 back-up unit when you do your HSC.
