is assumed knowledge different to prerequisites? because i always hear "oh, you have to do maths if you want to do medicine because it's a prereq. at usyd now" , etc. i thought assumed knowledge was the same thing.

prereq means u cant enrol in the course no matter ur overall marks etc, assumed knowledge generally means they will still allow u to do it, but u will most likely struggle with content without it
