who taking bio units at uni? what textbooks is recommended for the courses?

we were told to buy:
* a lab coat
* a dissection kit for 2nd semester
* a bio pack, which was a folder with notes in it
* a CDROM with the tutorials on it
* a encyclopedia sized textbook called 'biology' by campbell and reece

im doing a couple of biology subjects at newcastle

i was told by seeka that i may have to disect a rat (eww) and a cockroach (million-times eww)

so, yeah, i think i need to get a textbook (forget which), a lab coat, a disection kit, and a lab book

ya i was about to order the Campbell and Reece version of biology 6th ed... i just wanted to know if it is the one used in most unis... so i don't waste my money.

I bought one called "Biology" by Raven and Johnson. It's a pretty good book, I'm using it for BIOL1010 at Newcastle.
