Does anyone here do International Studies/Law at UNSW? I've been reading UNSW's website and handbook and I'm getting a bit confused about some of the information available, and so I was hoping someone who does this course could clarify something for me.
https://student.unsw.edu.au/ipt-law
----"Students currently in an International Studies program wishing to apply for an internal program transfer to the dual law program will not be permitted to take program leave or defer their dual law offer to commence in Semester 2, 2018 if they are going on an overseas exchange in Semester 2, 2017 and Semester 1, 2018. If the student receives an IPT offer to the dual law program and wishes to accept the offer to commence in Semester 1, 2018, they will be required to forgo their International Studies program and transfer to another dual law degree program."
I understand that the information above applies to the IPT program, but does it apply to people who are already enrolled in the dual law program? that is, will the people who are enrolled still be able to participate in the Overseas Exchange Program (OSP)? I'm assuming this is true based on the following:
"This program is for students commencing from 2018. Students commencing prior to 2018 should refer to program 4765 Bachelor of International Studies/Bachelor of Law.
This dual program, Bachelor of International Studies (UNSW BInst) and Bachelor of Laws provides an opportunity to obtain two degrees of professional importance to the public sector, community service, business and law practice. The Law courses satisfy the requirements for the award of the professional LLB degree. The UNSW BInSt is an innovative and practical program in which you will develop a comprehensive understanding of the contemporary world, pick up a useful second language, and experience one-year of study overseas... You specialize in an area of study, complete language study and a one-year Overseas Study Program (OSP) at one of the more than 200 approved partner universities around the world." (http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/programs/2018/4788.html#)
"Requirements for the Bachelor of International Studies in Dual Mode
- The basic requirements for the degree in dual mode (144 uoc) are:
- International Studies core (24 UOC)
- Regional Electives (12 UOC)
- Specialist Electives (12 UOC)
- Language Study core (24 UOC )
- A minor stream (24 UOC)
- Overseas Study Program (48 UOC)"
Basically, I'm confused. If anyone has any information that would clarify this, I'd really appreciate it.
