hey mate, im also using forrest gump as a related text. I named the techniques of simile with the quote 'life's like a box of chocolates' describing life as filled with random possibilities conveying the idea that through physical journeys we grow and take different paths as people and become unique.
i also named the technique of dramatic irony as forrest's mother tells him 'you're no different than anybody else' to make him feel better, when it is in fact his unique personality that makes him such an incredible person which we see by his achievements throughout the film. This conveys the idea that physical journeys teach us that our uniqueness (don't know if thats a word) sets us apart from others and can lead us to achieve great things.
these ideas link in with skrzynecki's father's uniqueness as a polish immigrant in 'felix skrzynecki'. hope this helps
