Urgent Scaling Advice!! :'( (1 Viewer)

hey guys I just failed a physics assesment worth a juicy 30%... and i was wondering if should drop it....

my situation:

i do 4u maths - but im not that gr8... like its possible i could get 50, but then its possible i could get 90.. (u know wat i mean)

newaiz...

all other maths are ok... englihs has to count... i do economics, that will count....

now the problem....

I do community and family studies (gr8 subject i love it :d) but im worreid about how its gonna scale? like i know its capped at 90.8 :| and the highest mark last yr was 97.... i dun mind this scaling... but is it gonna get worse? is there a chance the cap will go down to 88? or 85? cuz everyone kills it... i goto a selective schoola and no1 in my CAFS class gets less than 90% :|

so will this bring the cap down? cuz its 2 easy...

and i do one more subject.... accounting from tafe... it can count to ur uai i got 89 in that (scales to like 77.5 :|) so yeh...

think i should drop physics or can i recover with a band 5? i mean dunt hate it or anything. the assesment was just fuck hard :|

but still 14units :S

is ur ranking for phys still ok, or do u expect it to be ok. cos if u do, then i'd keep physics. internal asessments are all about ranking , and nor necessarily about marks. if u think u'll rank low. then drop it. u have enough other units to cover u. and if u like comm and family studies, then u'll do well. fi u do well, scaling won't make that much of a difference. but then again, its still early, maybe see how u go in the next phys assessment, and if its still bad, then drop

dropping units is only pointful if you think your having a time management problem....

Don't drop physics! It's good for your health

ok seriously, a band 5 in physics can really cover you if you fail to achieve a band 6 in you lower scaling subjects.

lol all these thoughts have already gone through my head, but it helps that other people feel the same way...

if there was just soem concrete about Comm and fam... everythign wuold be ok...

i know how marks are moderated (thnx to boredofstudies ) but i feel like im wasting my time :S

why, if he does well in 4u its gonna scale up heaps high, and even if he doesnt he still gets to use his nearly as good scaling 3u for 2 units instead of 1

yeh tahts exactly right... even if i got 0% in 4u maths.... id still keep it... cuz i want my 3unit to count for two units... i dun feel making it count for 1unit does justice to how much effort u would put into it :|

so thats not an option =)

but 3u doesnt scale that good... it like just doesnt go down.. but it doesnt go up either...

its just the scaling in CAFS thats got me fucked...
