So in multiple part questions such as superannuation and time payments, I've noticed BOSTES sample answers round off to the nearest dollar and use that value in the next part obtaining quite a different answer from mine as I use exact values? Are both ways correct? Do I get marked down?

i doubt you would lose marks specifically
.............although you should probably use their rounded up answer

But isn't using exact answer the more mathematically appropriate thing to do.

Write all the working out, including the numbers you use for the calculation. You won't lose marks for not rounding, unless rounding is implied in the question (i.e. "How many sheep are on the farm at 3pm?" 24.53 just isn't gonna cut it :p)

Use the exact answer, they won't take marks off. Only use THEIR answer if the previous part is a "Show that..." question.
