I remember reading something about how 9% of UNSW's Faculty of Commerce and Economics come from the top 1% of the state, so yeah it's possible there are a lot of selective school kids. (assuming selective school kids get higher marks)

Don't know what it's like at USyd, they do have a higher law cutoff tho

If you're white and from Sydney you're generally either preppy, gay or both. I'd rephrase your question as "are there more selective school kids at UNSW and more white guys at Usyd?". TBH, I wouldn't know but I also wouldn't be surpised if that was true. I went to Ruse and from my grade I'd say that on average that if someone didn't do B Med or B Laws at UNSW they did a B Comm (at UNSW - of course).

@ Volition. Most of the B Comm people I know did B Comm because they just missed out on the marks for law. I wouldn't be surpised, but I wonder what the % is like after first year .

hhmmmmmm well everything good and honest has been said about UNSW, but if your a shopping person, you wont get much if you go to UNSW, nothing compared to broadway, but Bondi has some good shops. UNSW i think has nice feel to it, but word of caution: Basser steps. everything about UNSW is great just experience the walk up Basser steps before, if you think its a good work out then good for you, if not dont be those who are complaining as hey are going up lol but other than that UNSW is better...

dude if ur gonna bag a place at least get the name right, KENSINGTON u loser... and it aint that much of a whole i actually live there... there might not be much in the way of the city but there is heaps of transport in the ways of buses that take u to most places, a tonne that go into the city too... i can tell u the UNSW social life so much better, i have to hear the parties that they have there...

I was contemplating going to sydney but in the end they dont have what i want to do, so life sucks ohhh well at least for me UNSW is only like right round the corner lol

Social life at uni is what you make of it. It helps if people are already having a ball when you get there, but seriously, you are the one who's gonna have fun and partying and socialising and what not. If you can't find fun at uni, you're not trying hard enough. It's not enough to just go to lectures and tutes and then go home again--you have to get involved.

If you can't make fun at uni, go somewhere else to find your kind of fun. I know pharmacy people are deadly boring usually (sorry guys--you're all cliqued up anyway and anyone else whom is mildly interesting has to work cos they're international students) so I had to go out there and find people from other faculties which is more interesting anyway (it's deadly boring finding the same 260 people everyday in every lecture you have).

Whoops i spelt "whole" wrong sorry meant hole... but lots ppl say that there r are tonne of asians at UNSW who cares its not as if usyd is free of them and seriouly alot of the ppl at usyd are stuck up rich, private school ppl. If u wanna make good connections go to usyd honestly they are both good uni's all for different reasons. If u wanna do something like engineering then go to UNSW, it is the largest in the southern hemisphere and is ranked 16th in the world.

UNSW = much more relaxed environment

USYD and UNSW are both fantastic uni's though i must agree that UNSW needs a makeover.
