i just wanted to know from someone who does capoeira if theres any chance of me being able to do that stuff. i cant do handstands or cartwheels but i can dance and i do have rhythm.
should i just give up now or might it be worth a shot?
any help is appreciated :)

capoeira isn't all flips and stuff. Of course you can do it.

I haven't seen many flips in Capoeira - that's more a Breakdance thing. If you're looking for dance similarities, it's a little like some hiphop but at the same time totally not (different cultural root and purpose).

A friend of mine studied under a Capoeira master in the city/Newtown area - maybe look there? :)

thanks guys :) there's a capoeira class thing in chatswood thats part of that big capoeira school, so i might give that a shot and see how i go!

oh yeah capo looks fucking awesome, i always wanted to learn it as well, but i think im too old to start training?


i have *relatively* good fitness, i can hold a few handstands and do stretches etc everyday....and as Cyph said, not really practical in a fight (but who trains to fight, anyway?) but when youre just sparring with another capoeirista it looks awesome, and it'd do wonders for fitness



anyhoo i dont think i have any chance of learning it, im so far removed from anywhere i doubt theyd have teachers in my area.
