yeah but I dont get the scholarship, I was only going to go to uni for that hahaha...about the only incentive it has at the moment.

It's still based on supply and demand u see.
From the main round, ppl change their preferences, and since the course offering vacanicies has only a limited amount of places left, theres more ppl competing for less places, therefore the UAI cutoff would tend to increase -
eg. 5 places, and 1000 ppl apply, that means the person with the 5th highest UAI out of those 1000 ppl becomes the cutoff
