what is the distinct difference between validity and reliability?

is it that validity refers to the experiment being appropriate

and reliability being that of being able to repeat the experiment and obtain the same results

someone help expand my definitions

they're quite...narrow

Yes, you're on the right track.

Usually the exam questions ask you to evaluate an experiment in terms of validity and reliability.

For validity, you would look at the method used, the equipment, correct use of equipment and such.

For reliability, you look at repetition, averaging only similar results, etc.

This website should help.
