i suggest you have a look at some benchmarks for cpus and gpus.

the c2d are really great for their price. the 3500+ would have been decent 5 years ago, but for any recent game its really going to be cutting into your fps. athlons are also crap overclockers.

the 2600XT also is kind of crap. it comes up even with a 6800ultra which is from 4 years ago and would be considered ancient by now.

im assuming that youre planning on playing crysis from your avatar, so you really need to invest a little bit more into your rig.

Nah my cpu and video card are good. Cpu i got for free and video card is usually priced $200+ whilst i paid $120. Thats the real reason i got it as it was cheap. The 8600gt is like close to $200 and is very little difference, but 8600gts different story its very good and pricey though.

I just upgraded my pc with a new mobo and graphics card but it doesnt run good. I have windows vista home premium running and i play games like BF2 on high settings but its always lagging, like the pc is always loading. My graphics card is good enough though radeon 2600xt. Do i need more ram? i have 1gig
im sorry to say but everything is holding you back from playing that game at maximum quality

your cpu is dated
2600xt is just not a very good gamming card
1gb ram is holding you back alot

plus running it on vista will cause additional reduction in fps(frame per second)

What are u talking about BF2?? BF2 came out like 2005 and only needed 512mb ram, fx5700 video card and 1.8ghz cpu.

If you are refering to Crysis then yes i know my pcs a bit old but the thing is i didnt buy the pc new. I just bought the video card as it was very cheap on ebay and i was using a crappy 9600pro before. ALso i checked the crysis specs and i should be playing at medium so all its good.
