Ok so SC is over (which was a waste of time in itself...), so why are we still doing year 10 classes?! I have my internal exam week this week, but after that school is going to be hopeless. Maths will be ok, because we will just keep moving on to year 11 work. I think the end of year 10 should be like year 11 - start your classes for next year.
They wonder why no-one turns up. Waste of time...

that was the problem when i did year 10 after we had finished sc we had to finish history still cause we went into sc not knowing the whole course we still had 3 chapters not completed i know how you feel it is gay cause there is no point

When the year 12 students finish their hsc exams they don't have to come back to school so why do the year 10 students still have to come back to school after they have finished their sc exams

legally you have to stay back, usually teachers have taught you everything so they polish you up for yr11 work

i remember been given the yr11 SDD yearly exam in year 10 after my SC, i got 52% ;D, while a shit result, it was good considering i was missing a years work to do so

I stopped going to school after december 2nd (my formal), because i had my exams just after SC

to be honest i couldnt be fucked studying for my electives, i already went hardcore on my SC and trials that i just couldnt be stuffed for the remainder electives + P.E.

Couldn't agree more with the thread starter. If schools really gave a damn they'd start yr 11 instead of bombarding u first day back, its a joke!

Guernica, i kinda agree but not entirely. If you still have internal exams then your internal school certificate grades haven't been finalised so if you stuff your 'final assesment' for the Sc then your grades will go down. But an extra week is stupid, evidently the teachers will see that you don't want to do anything and then put a video on.. waste of time no doubt, however teachers are not always the smartest people

Do you guys just bum around completely? Cos when I was in Term 4 of Year 10 last year, we moved into our Year 11 classes and given introductory courses--not anything illegal like starting the actual syllabus though. Some stuff was useful...esp. Chem, we learnt all the ions (fun, fun...) and maths...we brushed up and finished, and reviewed work, um...ok, so we did technically bum around in our minds, but are you still made to stay in your Year 10 classes? They allowed us to move into Year 11 classes in Term 4 so that we could be sure of our choices, bcos you really need a term for that kind of thing (to decide and swap, and then test out your new choices) and if we did it in Term 1, it'd be too late.

my other high school was only yr7-10

so they didnt have any yr11/12 work, in english we watched videos, in maths (advanced) he started giving us 3u work RIGHT after the HSC

but i generally fucked around, helped the school out fixing computers, cleaned up areas, did the general no work,

why bum around? get a job make a lot of money, i made $6k in summer holidays
