Yeah, its called P2P you imbecile.

And when has information on anorexia, bulimia and self harm articles been illegal?

And minorities? Like 80% of Australians dont want the fucking filter.
I really don't care what you call it. Your putting words into my mouth, I haven't said the the filter will do that. Give evidence that it will and i will listen. I've heard that >80% of Australians don't oppose the filter. What we have here is conflicting opinions, statements and political parties.

What is accurate about saying the filter will stop the distribution of CP?

Because it wont?
I'm not a Labor spokesperson, and this debate has gone way too far. If you want to know listen to a debate on TV, research it or something BUT DO NOT RELY ON YOUR BIAS OPINION.

Both sides of the argument need to provide evidence, including you. There are obvious benefits in filtering, and don't drag this argument on and on saying it won't work.
How about we wait for the policy to be implemented (which it will) and we will see what happens. I'm sick of arguing with you because all of you keeping alternating between saying the filter won't work and what the technical names of internet terms are. Who cares. Get over it. Move on. I'm not repeating what I've already said.

how bout the main % of internet users? wouldnt that be a better statistic?

i wouldnt see any reason for a demand in CP among old folks (why by, unless, they take viagra morning, afternoon, night - and have a fetish for CP)

a good assessment will be based on the % of frequent/internet users. Since we're talking about the implications on internet users.

know how to judge your stats.
fair enough, but i strongly believe that however simple you say it is, that the ordinary Australian DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO (insert your technical illegal access).

this goes down to a question of capabilities, which many australians have developed with computers - but not to that extent.

Political Point- Internet filter to stop the bad stuff we dont want kiddies viewing.

Evidence to back up filter- Derp, non. Evidence supports the fact the filter will fail.

Justification- P2P networks will not be filtered, internet speeds will be made 50-87% slower dependent on area (Conroy forgot to mention that little fact in the 7pm project), slower then brazil.
My assessment is as follows. >=)

Political Point - check

Evidence - you lack in this section, i dont really care about what your saying because it uses jargon, i think many would agree that you need to display this evidence -not just identify it.

Justification - provide the evidence for these justifications - these are bold statements that need to be backed up. thats the diffrence between a valid point and open-ended sentences.

(BTW im really getting over this discussion -_-)

Their alternative is to do nothing.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

YEAH THE GOVERNMENT DIDN'T REGULATE THIS TABLE IT NEEDS A LABOR PARTY STICKER
depends what they classify as broken, because there are many holes in the health and education systems that have started in being addressed by labor.

holes usually constitutes as broken. by holes i mean people are 'slipping through the cracks' ie. the policy needs reform as it isn't meeting the needs of the 21st century

The Libs policy is that the parents use filters at home.

Labor's policy is to be a gigantic nanny state

Libs, again, win.
That's not a policy - you just don't undrstand or get the difference.

I'm sure every parent wouldn't use a filter, besides you, as a lib, are blowing this new filter policy out of proportion - it's not that bad. i've heard the claims against it, but ive seen no evidence - so show me the evidence because i dont care about you're

PATHETIC MOURNING OVER JOHN HOWARD - HE IS DEAD IN POLITICS AND SO IS HIS PARTY - hmmmmmm i think labor won and is currently in power. yepppp

You're losing the argument so you call people nerds because they use the internet?

Christ you're as uninformed as the Labor party about this issue
I dont think im losing the argument. Keep it in context. I'm in a thread with a majority of liberal voters/supporters. That's why everyone disagrees, not to mention you are all so sensitive to everything i say, eg. i make a joke about someone saying why aren't i replying. i answer faceciously saying that i had to leave the house (true) which obviously they did not. i dont use anti-filtering mechanisms, dont really care about that stuff. im calling you computer science nerds beacuse i cant put another label to your heads that would do you justice and wouldn't offend you and go to far (creating an uproar), except maybe a political statement about your political party's ideological perspective. What about paid parental leave? Your party randomly went to canberra saying thats their policy and then abandoned it. I'm not uninformed in the area of this debate which counts - political viewpoints.

Woah... that was a mouthful..

Jesus Christ, you're stupid.

Obviously Blastus didn't say that the Liberal Party publishes a policy that says that you dumb shit. The policy that the Libs are suggesting (and have suggested) is that parents make their own decisions about filtering their own and their children's internet access. They have also published a filter that they deem able to perform this. Labour's current policy decides, SECRETLY, what *all* of Australia can and can't view. It slows the internet down because the filter has to check everything you're sending for shit it doesn't want. We as consumers already have a shitty broadband network to deal with as it is. There's absolutely no goddamn need to make it any slower.

It's censorship. It's demeaning. It's patronising. It's a restriction of our freedom. It is bullshit.

*Fuck*.

You've never provided any evidence for any of the retarded shit you've stated.
im not really debating you im just discussing viewpoints.

ive demonstrated an interpretation for a labor perspective, and you've done the same for the opposition.

evidence is important, tho i cant remember if i did provide evidence thats how long this debate has been going for. sighs. i really think the purpose of this thread has died during this discussion/debate/whatever the hell it is.
