ROMEO AND JULIET

Task:

1) Design a JIGSAW PUZZLE as a learning tool for students of Shakespeare.
2) Include a 250 WORD REFLECTIONSTATEMENT explaining your design
and the concept of your focus area.

FOCUS AREA

TRACE ONE CHARACTER'S DEVELOPMENT Tthrough the play you have studied this term. When creating the puzzle you willbe required to demonstrate your knowledge and uderstanding of the text and the character's journey in the play. You may include references to whichever of the following are relevant: plot, scenes, themes, characters, language, dialogue, techniques, staging, setting, props and symbols.
When designing your puzzle, you may add as much detail as necessary in order to convey your depth of understanding of the text. You can use any kind of materials: photographs, images, words or symbols necessary for your puzzle.

Pretty confusing eh?
I've thought of everything but i just cant seem to find a way
of doing this assignment. Any help/ideas would be much appreciated!

oh its not weird

wat is the concept of "shakespeare"?

shakepeare is after all not just a person any more. he is a thought, an idea, a realisation. he is so famous because he has become an epiphany (however u spell that) for the world.

wat was he most famous for (ie his most famous work or criteria of work)

i think thats revenge tragedy. and his uncanny ability to find something funny in the most disastrous of occurances (think: a midsummer nights dream).

u shud read up on shakespeare and his times.
create a generalisation of his works. ie. wat was he best at writing.

i suggest u just pick revenge tragedy and his key emotive imagery used throughout all his plays (storms, foreshadowing, etc).

create a image based on wat u think best.

cut out pictures of magazines etc. but try to make it look more like a whole picture than a collage. once ur done just write down why u did that.

ohhhhhhhh. maybe u shud pick a image that illustrates revenge tragedy but go deeper by combining it with an image that shows something funny and add a effing storm.

after all a weird assignment given deserves a weird answer given but then again its not weird its just hard.

oh w8 r u doing romeo and juliet?

just pick romeo and point out wat an idiot he is.

why has he become so famous for dying.

look at the fact that romeo and juliet wud neva have been famous had they not died. tragic.

or maybe u cud do it on juliet's total conformity to wat society always told her to do. and how her one non-conformist decision leads to her death.

i shud read the question. but its so effing long.

it IS weird

hahaha.. your school must be so short of staff and lack of funding that they have resorted to employing kindergarten teachers for HSC English. They must also have had to cut the cost of text books, hence they decided to get your year to create the teaching materials that will be given to the next.

i'm sure that beats one year 12 class I had where the teacher got us to make a drawing on a large sheet of paper about the images in a poem. that teacher only lasted a week. i think they must have transferred him to a primary school or something.

Andrew, your response just emphasises your lack of understanding of the education system and teaching and learning.
Sorry, unlike you I have had no formal training in education. However I was mealy trying to joke about the situation.

For a year 11 assignment that is so stupid!!
Jeez I thought a jigsaw puzzle was bad for year 8 kids to be doing, its a rather "interesting" assignment to say the least.

When your teacher assigns your assignments like these you know they can't be bothered with reading anymore - i mean, 250 word reflection statement!?
