Last night i finished "Undomestic Goddess" by Sophie Kinsella. It's your typical girly trash novel but it is SO fucking hilarious. i loved it. i was up til 2am most nights reading it. i finished too quickly

just finnished Joe Cinque's Consolation. Overall was a good book, but not being a lawyer the trial bits were a bit dull, and a tad confusing.

Am now reading Q & A by Vikas Swarup and I can't stop reading it, it is that good - i am reading at any available opportunity i love it that much

Finished "My Sister's Keeper" and am reading my third Jodi Picoult novel in about 2 weeks..."Vanishing Act".

Without having finished it, I would rank "My Sister's Keeper" head and shoulders above the other two and above most books I've read recently.

Am becoming thoroughly depressed reading her books and the style is starting to get dull (probably more my fault cos I'm reading 3 of her books in a row non stop) but meh.

Highly recommend "My Sister's Keeper" to anyone who is a thinker. I'm not much of a "contemporary" novel type of person and this book just blew me away.

Gates of Fire - Steven Pressfield

Its pretty good actually - its about the battle of thermopylae

Its a little bit confronting - some of the torturious scenes are a bit icky but a good book over all

As for what I'm reading..."Gagging the Past" by Katrina Schlunke (my cultural studies lecturer) as well as re-reading "Perdido St. Station" by China Mieville and "Sabriel" by Garth Nix (neither of which are lecturers of mine) both for pleasure and as preparation for a project of mine.
