although i havent read much of catch 22 yet, i must say, so far it is very dull... can anyone tell me when it gets exciting or interesting???

I've gotta go to my library and borrow 'Girl With A Pearl Earring' by Tracy Chevalier to read again. I love that book.

1984- George Orwell, just out of interest

then I'm gonna have a crack at the Count of Monte Cristo. how for d'ya reckon I'll get? 500 pages? 1000?

It's not necessarily an action book. You need to read about 100 pages to get to know the characters. The point of the book is the humour. Appreciate it.

Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

I read the Count of Monte Cristo this year over a few months - one of the best books i've ever read, I definitely recommend you read it, its well worth the 1000+ pages.
