Tornado of Souls by Megadeth has an ace solo
I also love the solo in Over the Wall by Testament.

Also omie jay... you didn't mention the best solo by In Flames ... December Flower (granted it's a guest solo and Zombie inc is ace too)

There's too many to list really ;(~

they dont really do solo's?

but since i now love them a squillion times more than when i made this thread...

change of heart (from 2:08, does that count as a solo?)
in the groves of death (outro solo)
shades of deep green (outro acoustic solo, omg, makes me melt inside <333333)
in the halls of awaiting
bereavement
song of the forlorn son (outro)

edit: that was directed at Aeriff's DELETED POST

Mclusky - (I forgot which song... I think it's KKKitchens, What were you thinking?) It's just sexy distorted noise in a form you can't put your finger on. It's sexy!
Ahhh, it was KKKitchens :] -True story :D
Yay for accidental racism!

EDIT: Also; penis.

off the top of my head:

Frusciante's bleeding guitar on "I could Have Lied" is awesome, even though its simple and short.

The solo that plays at the end of "Alive" by Pearl Jam.

The entire song "Great Gig in the Sky" by Pink Floyd

"Black Hole Sun" from Soundgarden

Hell yes, JP is a machine! My fav JP solo would probably be some of his live ones: In the name of god or hollow years from live at budokan and another hand/the killing hand live at the marquee. but far too many too awesome one's to list.

other bands/songs/solos i love:

*silent revelation - galneryus
*ghost prototype I: measurement of thought - scar symmetry
*this godless endeavour - nevermore
*burden - opeth
*spread the disease - marco sfogli (slow melodic one towards the end is amazing)
*counterbalance - threat signal
*of sins and shadows - symphony x

^^^^ This guy knows his shit!

ah soooo many more i could list!
Ministry of lost souls? Dark eternal night? <3
