international relatons at ANU - 85

if i don't get into either of them, i'll do arts at any uni with courses in the above areas but hopefully ANU or UNSW so i can transfer over

Yes Cambridge is in England, but don't you have to do the IB to attend?

it is in england
no u dont need IB
and 98 is the minimum uai to be considered..
98 turns out to be relatively equivalent to a AAA GSCE rating
which is what is needed to be accepted...
i hav already applied and i should be getting a response within the next 2 months fingers crossed
only thing that sux is that u hav to either apply at oxford or cambridge..not both...
i choose cambridge becuase i hav been to campus of both of em and i liked cambridge better
anyways good luck to everyone else

WOW... im surprised ALOT for you are AIMING very high

but is the marks you think you will get... or wish to get?]

because you do realise 90 UAI means top 10% in most subjects across NSW

no it it isn't too late
applications for medicine and vetinary sciences at both oxford and cambridge close on the 30th of october
there will be apparently no exceptions
u hav however put urself in an uncomfortable position as now u hav to order the ucas application plus college applications
then ur best of cheacing out their respective propectuses and then deciding
there is a process similar to getting into med.. if u are after medicine like there is at unsw
u hav to send in application
plus if u feel u hav to do it..u can do a bmat exam..similar to umat..
although as far as i know..umat is good enough..
then finally u hav to achieve the marks 98+ to get in..
they only accept 20 international students
competition is tough..
if u want further info..just let me know and i'll help
anyways tata folks
btw if ur not after medicine then application close late next yr.. the english semester starts in september

A UAI of 90 is more like the top 15% of the state, not top 10%. :)

I am considering:
- Med at UNSW OR
- Adv science/commerce at USyd.

UMAT might decide that for me (ie: if I screw it).

I might just do adv science (at Sydney, which is 96) if I decide I will aim to transfer to sci/law after 1st year. Ideally I'd do sci/comm in first year, decide which I liked out of those two and transfer to law with the one I liked better providing I got good enough marks. The only problems are that it wastes part of my HECS fees and I lose 6 months. The benefits are that if I don't get a D average I'm not stuck in a straight science degree (I guess I could do law post grad though, only another year ehhh) and I can go on and get the sci/com one instead. So many decisions, such little time!

I'd do sci/law except 99.6 is out of my reach. Still, I'm considering sci/law at UTS (about 97/98) but I don't know enough about it to make an informed decision just yet.

The last preference will be something like env. science at 80 with a view towards becoming a meteorologist or something. :)

.. LOL, everyone here is aiming so high!

I'm praying I get into Nursing/Education (Early Childhood) at CSU Bathurst. The UAI is 70, so I'm pretty confident :). Sorta..

I haven't really looked into another place I'd go; or a course other than Nursing... But I got my UAC guide today, so i'll be sitting down and thinking hard ;)
