yeh too bad i didn't shift thru whirlpool's threads about the nb5 and how so many users have problems with it.
I guess it's just cheap, $90 but sucks. The longest it went without hanging or crashing was less than 12 hours.
Usually while happily browsing the web, a page would take >60 seconds to load and it would say there's no internet connection, LAN/Ethernet would still say it's connected.
Then try to "remotely" restart the router through the web interface, you can't do it because the router wont respond (nothing would be displayed). Try using telnet, same thing.
So you have to resort taking the 10 metre walk to unplug and replug the power adapter to your router. In a minute, suddenly you have super fast internet again yay! ... not.
But "just in case" it's not the modem's fault, i should try to "borrow" rather than buy another router. Does anyone kno any place to borrow an ADSL2+ router

That NB5 is so bad - get a Billion and you'll see a huge sync increase.
edit: Which billion modem do u say is good? I've looked around and they're quite expensive, >$100.
except for Billion BIPAC-5102S ADSL2+ Modem/Router - $85
note: " For those living closer than 2Km from the Central Office (Exchange), we recommend the Billion 7402 series models."
