according to my french exchange student (who wears casual clothes in Paris but had to wear a suit in australia to school,) a formal uniform makes you feel like you are in a professional situation and thus stimulates hard work

our school said that if we wore uniforms with writing theyd send us home and so we'd miss the exam

Yo, that's stupid. A school would never send you home. Think about it: If they send you home, that's one less person doing their HSC, meaning 1 less person who has the potential to score some band 6s for the school, meaning the school's rank would drop.

I remember my brother went to his exams in a singlet and thongs (no joke) and they didn't do anything to him.

My school wanted us to donate our school uniform at the end of last term. Then this wekk, they say we have to wear school uniform for hte exams.

Lucky I didn't bother to donate mine.
