No school should be doing MC in an English Extension paper - do it if you would consider doing it during the HSC. Otherwise, don't bother. Remember if you choose Advanced, you can't change from that later during the year.

i love extension english, but my teacher is off with the faries ninety percent of the time...the other ten she is either yelling at us or we're yelling at her. our class practically teaches ourselves but the stuff that i have learnt has really helped me in advanced english. we're doing social values or someting like that but we didnt get a say in what topic we were doing...now that caused quiet a stir but all in all im loving the class and it show because im topping both advanced and extension. we dont do a whole lot of writing, or creative writing =[ or even reading as a matter of fact...we've watched half a dozen totally irrelavent movies though - not complaining.

As someone who is going this HSC this year, it's quite demanding, for a one unit subject, I'll give you that. You get A LOT more work in year 12, in eng adv AND eng ext 1.

I think it's interesting, and it's much more focused, because you just have the one topic for the entire year. Mine is Romanticism, so I get to explore the works of Keats, Coleridge etc.

And write three sustained compositions, inspired by Romanticism itself.. the other assessments are usually essays.

Yeah, but it's all good. Good scaling too, perhaps the best of the english units. :D
